So my boyfriend and I were downtown and we stumbled upon the "Antique Mall"...
It. was. amazing!!
Although I enjoyed myself, there was plenty of junk; creepy dolls, old books, and UGLY clothing. Man was there some ugly clothes....But there were definitely plenty of gems! My boyfriend fell in love with the Japanese swords (I don't know the technical term for them, sorry) that we found for $20, there were tons of adorable vintage gloves, I found an Ankara dress straight from the 70's for $10, and the one item I found that I must have is this vintage Conair Metropolis phone (in black):

I'll be moving into my new apartment in two weeks and I've decided that I want my room to look completely 1950's, so I need this phone to complete my vision. Besides the vintage look, this phone has more meaning to me. As you've probably already guessed, I love Janelle Monae! True J.Monae fans know that her music is heavily based on the movie Metropolis, plus everyone knows Superman lives in Metropolis...all the more reason I need this phone!!
Unfortunately I didn't have any money, so I won't be able to buy anything for another two weeks.
But if it's still there when I go back, then it was meant to be..!
