This is how I've felt the whole day today:
Just blahhhhh.
I'm not in the spirit. I know the "reason for the season" but it's kind of hard to get into it when everyone is more concerned with bragging about the gifts and things they're going to receive, instead of the time they'll spend with their family and the joy of the holiday. I mean, is it just me or does Christmas feel extra commercialized this year? It always is, but this year it just feels like Christmas' magic is being shrouded by price tags. Take a look at this music video:
All I want for Christmas is you...and a Nintendo 3DS, some shoes, and Mariah Carey in a sexy outfit?? I know that Macy's probably paid Justin Bieber a hefty sum to do this video, but geez.
Oh, and my Grinchiness might also be due to the fact that I was given an ultimatum by the church I worked at: "work Christmas Eve and Christmas or be let go". Now, the church is in Lawrence and my family is in Wichita....I wanted to spend this time with them for the holidays so I chose to be let go. How ironic right?
Anyway, I'll admit I'm being a Grinch this Christmas, but hopefully I'll be more in the spirit after going to church tomorrow!

I agree it is so over the top this year =/
I'm so sorry about your job but I know you made the right choice. Family first

OMG! I always feel like ppl brag about their gifts. That's a huge sign of immaturity. I only tell me close friends and family what I got, if they ask.
I'm only excited about tomorrow because I get to see my little cousin so happy about her gifts, and my bestfriends :)
I'm sorry to hear about your job. Hopefully, it means that something bigger and better is on the horizon. Yes, it definitely extra commercialized this year. Retailers want us to spend ourselves out of the recession...although spending is what got us here in the first place. It is sad. Kids are growing up not understanding the TRUE meaning of Christmas.
Daisy-
Thank you! ^__^ I hope you're having a merry Christmas!

Yeah I agree, definitely immature! And awww that's always the best...Merry Christmas!

I really do hope so! Thank you :) And yup! I totally agree, its super sad, the meaning of Christmas seems to not matter this year..only presents :/
wow, no fun. I'm so sorry about your job..a church?? Smh, that's not in the holiday spirit at all.
You're so right, though..you'd think it wouldn't be this way..considering the state of the economy..but, that's America for you.
The video is just..ew. Too much to say.
But, I hope you had a good service and enjoyed time with your family.
